Big Camp Out FAQs

How much does it cost to attend the event?

We ask that you pay £30 per pitch and £5 per adult. Children are free! Details for payment will be shown once you have completed the booking form.

What time can I arrive?

Any time after 3pm you can arrive and pitch up. Please arrive before 5pm. Pitches are not allocated so turn up early for the best ones!

You are free to pitch your tent and leave but Ballard Close takes no responsibility for any damaged that may occur.

Do I need to bring my own tent?

Please bring you own tent, bedding, torch and anything else you feel essential to survive the night!

Is there parking?

There is a drop of area at the Twyford Community Centre car park and then plenty of parking around the village.

Note: please do not drive down School Road there is no parking available. We are not allowing cars onto Ballard Close from school road

Are there any toilets on site?

Toilets are available within the Twyford Community Centre

If there food available?

There will be a BBQ served at 5pm, ice creams will hopefully be served at 7pm and there will be further bar snacks and alcoholic beverages available throughout the evening. Please feel free to stock up on midnight feast goodies!

Is there a bar for the grownups?

Yes, there will be a limited bar selling alcoholic and soft drink. We will also have hot drinks available.

Are there any other activities going on in the afternoon to keep the children entertained?

There is a playpark and lots of places that children can make dens. Please bring any toys or outside equipment your children may like to play with. Depending on numbers, and if folks are up for it, we will try and arrange rounders, giant tag and even a water fight

Will there be a camp fire?

Yes, the fire pit will be lit at 6.30pm and marshmallows and s’mores will be available to purchase.

Is breakfast available?

Breakfast will be available on site from 8am. And it will be tea, coffee and bacon breakfast roles.

Do I need to bring cash?

We accept cash and can take payment via credit/debit card on site

What time is the live music?

Music will be playing throughout the afternoon and evening. Open mic sessions will begin at 5pm

Are dogs allowed?

Unfortunately dogs are not allowed within Ballards Close Playing Field
